I'm not an audio expert but I can tell you what I think. :D I had two 10" fosgate punch's (the good ones, the old ones) in my hatch with a punch amp and I needed a capacitor. I'm thinking with four 10" kicker's, it may be good to get one.

btw, the two fosgate's I had in my hatch f**king pounded! I took them out and sold them as soon as I started to mess around under the hood.

Some say capacitors help and some say they don't...I have a Kicker ZX1000.1 and JLW7 and took the cap off...it did nothing IMO...

think people get negative effects from not using them right...I think you have to charge them or something before you even hook them up...I dunno, I've never used one...

If your that worried about power Buy a high Amp alternator and a Dry Cell Battery. Mine is a Kenetik battery.
Then after that see if you would prefer a capacitor. Because i know I dont!

^^^Even with a system like above, I find it hard to believe that he would even need a new alternator/battery...much less a capacitor...you really have to have a serious system to need these upgrades unless the very slight dimming of lights (which some call major but its usually not) bothers you...

caps are a larger strain on your electrical system. you're much better off getting a HO alternator.

i upgraded my alternator because of my dimming problem. Which was pretty bad...The light from my headlights would almost vanish. As for the Kenetik..It was a good deal and i was tired of my old battery spewing acid all over my engine bay. lol

I would just upgrade the alternator rather than getting a cap. Cap's can do more harm then good. Get what your car would need for a system like that, a high output alternator.

:word:

It also depends on how much power your amps will be drawing and whether or not you're gonna be turning it up to crack the pavement 24/7. I have 3 amps drawing 1500 watts and about 170 amps. I'm still using my stock electrical system (including the battery) and I've never run into any problems and its been about a year and a half. Although I've got a brand new HO alternator that's been in my garage for about a year now :???:

Really No dimming of the lights? My cars at about 2000 watts rms and i was dimming bad! Good to have the HO alternator incase the stock one fails! Better to be ready! lol

The cap is just something that try's to reserve power. BUT....it can't do it for every single time the bass hits. In stead of trying to reserve power for when the system needs it, whyn0t just give the simple the power it needs in the first place.

My lights used to dim back when i had the stock halogen bulbs. But since I did a hid retro its a lot less noticeable, but the dash lights will still dim if i turn it up loud. Yeah, I should put the new one in sometime soon.

Its like a few guys said on here.......depends on how many amps you are running and if your really just gonna give her hell all the time. I personally have two Kenwood Excelon Amps running three Kicker CVR 12" and kenwood components along with two Audio Control linedrivers, so therefore i have TWO 1.0 Farad Caps. And to top it all off a Optima Yellow top.

Its the DIY type R grill. Since its an OEM grill, I have no fitment issues.
