Doing a 5 speed swap into my d16y7 auto. I bought the car with 110k miles for 2100 cause i was in need of a good reliable car. I was running a 86 Rx7 fc, loved it but it wasnt what i needed at the time. I,ve driven nothing but manual cars so im not new to driving a manual, im just new to the swaping tranny's. I need to know where to look for one, like whats my best route for finding a decent tranny, i'd rather not go to a u pull it place, maybe internet?? and about how much should i get to buy everything i need, about 4 to 5 hundred is what im thinking? And where should i go for an ecu, maybe get one with a warranty? idk. Just throw me some info if ya could. thanKs.  :x   < these things are awesome!!

Id get an ex/si tranny since they have shorter gearing but a trany will run you 400-600 and then you still need an ecu and clutch pedal and all that and different tranny mounts etc. search its been done many times b4 ypu mite find a cheaper tranny but thats what they usually sell for.

you can get lucky and find cheap ones..4-600 for a d series tranny is way over priced..that is the price for most b series..i just did an automatic tranny swap in my cousins eg and the tranny i found him was only $100..just gotta be patient and look around
have you tried craigslist?
