I was wondering if anyone had any experience installing 6.5" components up front that are connected to an amp. I saw the How to but they used the stock wiring. I need to run new thicker 14&16 gauge wire from the doors to the cabin of the car. I was wondering if anyone any tips on how to get the wire through the rubber loom where all the other wires are at. I was looking at it today and it seemed impossible to just thread it though becuz of the angles that are there. Please help. Thanks.

Your stock wire will work but if you want thicker wires you can run the wires along the factory wire loom but new loom around your new wires and tap it around the factory loom, You don't need to run the new wire in the factory loom. If you really want to you can cut the factory loom and then either replace it of tape it back up. I think if you go to radioshack they have loom you can heat up and it melts on to the wire for a clean look. Its all up to you.

I finished installing 6.5 components in my 00. The worst part is installing new 14-16 gauge wires and tapping it through the door... I thought it would be easy like my 3rd gen lude, but noooo.. I don't know for coupes but for sedans, the problem is, the wire loom that goes out to the door has enough opening for new wires, but when it goes into the door, it becomes a 15-pin or so plug-in! so there is no way to cut into the loom and access into the door, so I had to go under the door and into the leak holes.. I'll take some pictures if I have time..

I also did the wiring through my inside protector sills, it looks clean ass heck; power on the driver side, speaker and rca cables on the right. It takes time, slow

Overall i'm happy with it! clean look with clean sound.. =)

Not sure why you went to a leak hole at the bottom of the door. All you had to do was drill a hole in the door jam, put a groumet in there to protect the wire from the metal and you are good to go. So do you have your wire running down the door to the bottom of it?

That sounds like a good idea! but I really have no time for that, it's fine though.. it' just goes down a bit to the first drain hole..

Duct Tape your new speaker wire to the stock wire. Lube it up with Vaseline or KY (whatever your pleasure). Pull wire from the inside of the car. I've done this on many installs. Don't start drilling more holes. I've seen them rust and leak water and ruin nice components. It takes a little patience but it's the right way to di it.

KY huh, theres a new use for it

Some of the newer hondas will need a new hole drilled in the door jam to get the wire through. The stock plug prevents a new wire being ran.

Its not all that bad, all you need is a multi drill bit, a skewdriver (or 90 degree) and a drill and some grommets
Oh yeah and dont forget some split loom

Are you talking about an amp or a crossover? If there is room, you can put the crossover in the door.
