I have a 99 Civic EX, auto, and i was wondering if there was a way to convert it to a six speed some how. Are there any transmissions out there? Give some web sites if there are. Or, the cheapest engine swaps you can think of. What is better than my engine? I want something at least faster than the 99-00 SI's. There to slow. I beat one in my auto Ex, and there only a second faster in the quater mile. Are there any better engines for cheap?

6speed auto tranny? haha, thats funny. a auto tranny for a civic is a 4speed and you want two more gears. having more gears for a low HP/TQ engine is just going to slow you down even more, haha. if you want to make your auto faster and doning it cheap is to go nitrous. other then that, if you got the money, do a engine swap and a manual swap.
1) i dont recall ever hearing of a 6spd auto... unless its in some exotic ass car.
2) i definately know there isnt a honda 6spd auto.
3) the closes thing are the nsx and 2sk 6spd's, both of which are different, and will not mate up with an engine you will be able to swap into you car easily.... which is a discussion that has been had over and over again, and i am not going into now since you asked about trannies.

make your ex faster
ok pay close attention here, to make your car faster,
1. put on a crazy loud ass exhaust good for like 25-30 hp
2. swap out tailights go for the tezzas they weigh less than stock and will give ya bout 5 hp easily
3. big rear wing the bigger the better more downforce.
4. you need lots and lots of sticker and depending on the company the more horsepower youll get example a aem sticker will give ya bout 10 hp whereas as zex or nos stickers is good for at least 50 hp
with all these mods you should be able to push bout 300-350 hp at the rws

there are six speed auto trannies in non-exotic cars...but high end nonetheless (bmw, benz, etc)
but yeah, im with everyone else
1. you couldnt have beat that guy if you were both bone stock
2. a 6 speed tranny on that weak of a motor would hurt you more than help you

If you had a rear wheel drive car you could fit a under/overdrive unit between the transmission and the driveshaft like an old Triumph and double the amount of ratios. The old (and I mean OLD) Mitsubishi Colt FWD had a similar arrangement that allowed you to change the final drive ratio for an effective eight speed. I have no idea how or even if you could adapt this to a Honda...especially an automatic. I think you are pretty much stuck.

First of all, no the SI's i have raced had only small mods like an Exhuast system or intake. Mine a has i/h/e. But those don add much. You guys do know that the SI only beats the EX by one tiny little second in the 0-60 and quarter mile right.(with an excellent driver) WOW!! A whole f***ing second! Is that worth a thousand dollar engine swap so i can put that little one second better engine in my car? No!.

1999 Civic SI: Hp: 160 Torque: 114
0-60: 7.3 seconds. 15.3 quarter mile.
Those are the average cold hard facts, and all you SI owners think your bad as s**t. The fact is that both cars are heavy as f**k and could never beat any other civic besides the non VTEC ones or heavier ones.
Oh and by the way: the ex facts up there are with an auto tranny EX and five speed SI. Which is another question for you guys. Why do you think that five speeds are always faster than automatics??? The car downshifts for you in an automatic and always redlines when it shifts. Give me the real reason a five speed is faster, or said to be. Then i will go kill myself because all this time, i have been beating SI's by car lengths, and if i had a five speed, i couldnt imagine what i could do.

well the manual 5 speed duznt have as much bullshit to run the power through to get the power to the ground. just the gears, no rubber band type s**t stuff like in the auto(well i duno my old ford had rubber bands i dont know honda auto's :\) so u lose power in the auto.
