I have a 98 DX HB that has a problem- The car dies on me when it is warm out (warm being anything above freezing). All winter it has ran fine, it only dies if it is the sun or the temperature is warm. When the car dies, you can get it running again by holding the key in the start postion and slowly letting it go back to "run". Also if you are watching the gauges as they flicker, and it is about to die, if i put pressure on the key towards the start postion, it will not die.
The mods I have done are D16Y8 instake manifold, SRI, stereo system, B&M short shifter.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Josh

sounds like you have a short in a wire somewhere. Hopefully it blows a fuse so you know where it is coming from. It sounds like something in the igntion switch. Def. sounds like an electrical problem.

wasn't there a recall a while back for 6th gens due to that they had some kind of ignition problem?
I beleive the ignition was faulty, the car could shut off at any time...
sounds like it's an ignition problem to me...

I was thinking something like the radiator. But It might be ignition. Who knows maybe you have no coolant, or maybe you got a block some place.

sounds electrical to me. and theres no way it could be caused by a clog in the coolant system. that would only make the car over heat.

Check out the link to the recalls. What do you have the remote wire from you stereo system connected to?
