6X9 problems....grrr

one of my 6x9s in my car are making this distorted farting shitty sound. i pulled it out and checked the cone and it wasn't cracked or damaged. im thinking the dudes that put them in mixed up the positive and negative terminals. i dont want to pull the wires out and switch them to find out im wrong....any suggestions?

if they would have done that you wouldnt havee no sound at all

The speaker would still function if the wires were swapped. However, if you push directly down on the cone, does it make a scraping or scratchy noise?

scraping. speaker is definitely blown. i don't understand how you blow f**king components.

im gonna buy another pair of type r's. anyone rockin the PDX 5 from alpine? im about to buy one soon to power the components. 4x75 and when i get a sub 300x1! woot woot
