87 CRX HF Emergency Flashers not working

I recently acquired an '87 CRX HF that is in generally great (and FACTORY!!) shape, but have found that the emergency flashers do not work when I slide the switch on the steering column to the left. The turn signals all work just fine normally - both front and back, but they stop flashing when the emergency flasher switch is switched on (to the left). Any suggestions???

Im not sure about the older model hondas, but the newer ones with this problem would be fixed by replacing the hazard switch. Yours probably has a relay somewhere being that you said your switch is in the column.
