Hi new here so i got a low mileage 89 civic dx with 167,000km with a 1.5L.
I know it's not a race motor but what are some modes i can do to to make it a little more peepy lol.
Also i don't have the rear speakers in my car is there an easy mode to putting speakers in.
And is there any bushing kits to stay away from or are they all pretty .
I would like to lower my dx but not sure how much and how with just springs or do I do the hole new shocks that are adjustable. I will be driving this car all year round summers and winters.
And if I lower the car what are a safe size of rims I can go to in size.
Thank you for your help this site is sick great work guys and gals.

Oh man...

I don't know what modes you're looking for to get a peepy engine...
The bushing kits also will often look pretty at first, but after being used, will generally pretty dirty and I'm sure you'll lose interest and move on to much younger, prettier bushings.
If you have a hole in your new shocks, send them back and get new ones.

Now that that's out of the way...

With a stock 1.5l DX engine from an 89, you can't expect too much unless you go all out. In which case, I'd recommend just putting a B16 in it and enjoy the new car you just built yourself.

Rear speakers, to do it RIGHT, will take a lot of time and patience, pulling panels and routing cable. It's not difficult, you just need to source the panels to mount them in, cable is not hard to find, and common sense should help you route the cable. Tap into the head unit at the specified terminals, enjoy your new speakers.

If you're looking for a decent daily driver experience, go with regular PU bushing. They make harder bushings, but will give you harder feels. It's all in your preference.

Don't lower your car on stock struts. That's just no. Get something like F&F Type 1 for cheap, or go with the Koni Yellow w/ GC springs. You can fit large rims on it if you want, but most don't go beyond 16 inch due to rubbing, etc.

Feel free to do some research and let us know what you come up with and what you have specific questions on.
