me and my father have had a 91 civic si swap with a b18 block and a b16 head it has been off the road for about 3 years, we replaced a timing belt and the car has never ran the same since the old timing belt gave out. The tachometer is reading that when the car is idling it's at 0 rpm and the car will bog and die sometimes. does anyone know what might be wrong?

Did you make sure that the mechanical timing is correct. The first time I put a belt on my bswap I had the exhaust cam a tooth off and it had less low end torque then my old D series because of that. Could be a tooth off on one of your cams or you may have bent a valve installing the belt. I suggest double checking everything that could have to do with the belt, and timing and if that checks out you should compression test the engine.

If the old belt gave out, you probably bent the valves in the head. Pull the head off, and check the valves out.

Yes, if they arent bent badly, it will still run. It will just run like utter s**t. You'll have no power, and terrible MPG. Do a compression test. If you dont have even compression across 4 cylinders, you probably bent valves.
