91 Civic Tape Deck Problem

I have a '91 Civic DX, and yesterday I accidentally put in a faulty cassette that ended up getting eaten by the tape deck. I managed to get pieces of it out, but there must still be some tape inside, as working tapes aren't playing correctly (they sound watery and chipmunky). I was wondering if anyone knows of a way I can get inside the tape deck to remove the last pieces? Is this foolish? I have no money to spare these days and I hate driving without music, so I'm hoping I can work something out. Thanks.

sweet, someone that still plays tapes, your gonna have to take the radio out and take the top off. look inside for remains of the tape around the pulleys and pull it out.
