So i just bought a crx hf and it had front end damage. and i wanted to replace the front support beam with an si one. i noticed it didn't go on cause of the support sticking out of where it mounts onto. can i just cut them off? or does the beam even fit the frame and bumper right? i don't know much so please help.

Its an hf model d15b6 engine. i was told that i can just cut the little wings off the mounts for the support beam and it should fit fine. i did that and put the beam on the mounts and the bumper seemed to stick forward a little or sagg? cause it did'n't match up to the lights and hood there's a gap about an inch of gap between everything. what exactly would be different?
