Ok so I just bought an eg hatch from this dude who wired up his sound system himself.
The main power wire (yellow) for the stereo goes from the battery post, directly inside.
The rest is how it should be. Okay so today I removed this stereo he left me because it kept saying
"failure" and sound would not come out. I put in my old one, I wired it up and as I was going to tape
the ignition wire (yellow/red stripe to red stereo wire) it touched both ground wires (black) from the stereo and car.
It sparked and the stereo turned off. I removed the ground and ignition quickly and tried to rewire again one by one with tape after another. And nothing happened. I tried to wire the stereo it came with and nothing either. What can be the problem?
Did a fuse burn out and it's fixable to put a stero in or is it completely screwed?
I want to wire it up properly instead of direct to the battery
