I brought a 93 civic about a year and a half ago for $300.00. I would like to fix it up but just don't know where to start. I never fixed up a car before so this will be my first time. Is this car worth fixing up just asking before i put money in it. Here are some picks of it. The motor in it is D16Z6. It runs alright just needs some tlc. It has a five speed manual tranny. Yeah hood fenders don't look real good. I had plans on getting a bodykit, fenders, and new hood. It does need a new rack and pinion

looks pretty rough. looks like it will take a lot of time and money. interior looks like it needs a lot. if i where you i would clean it up first and see how it looks. hood fenders and bumper would probably not be that bad. the interior looks the worst. if you are planning on doing most of the work yourself you might be able to find enough deals to make it worth it. definately clean it up first. and go from there.

actually, after looking at it again, you only need 3 body panels. just hood, pass. fender, and pass front door. will be a lot cheaper to fix up a 4 door than a coupe. might not be that bad.

s**t for $300 looks good. Junk yard is your best friend, and if you give them your old panels you can sometimes get parts for cheaper cuz they work with scrap companies. Id say get your interior back to stock, you could probably trade those seats to some kid for stock ones. hood, fenders, headlights, paint, and then you have a good base to start with.

Otha than that it does need alot of TLC. You can make it work, if yah up to it. Madd patience will be needed.

Thanks for all the info. Main thing is i just want to fix it up to drive and put a sound system in it. Don't care about making it super fast i don't plan on racing it. Is $5000.00 enough to fix it up or do i need more. I know how to work on motors and some stuff on cars i used to work at my dads garage when i was younger.

that sounds like plenty. like previously stated, trade the seats to some kid for stock ones, and a junkyard will be your best friend. the interior just looks like it needs to be cleaned, and the glove box. probably mostly just time.
