I have recently but a 88 - 91 zc motor in my 94 civic dx. was wondering what recomendations you have for the motor itself and what trouble i am gonna have with it in the time ahead. Also i have my stock tranny hooked up. What is a recomendation for the zc with a civic tranny? Also does anyone know a site for civic tranny codes cuz i want to see if my tranny is dx. Couple fo people said it looked like an ex. just want to be sure.

A) your car will never pass smog ... ever. Unless they dont notice that its in there which if they dont you are good to go ... i know someone who managed to pass a 90 civic hatch with a d16z6 (92-95 ex motor) without getting it bar approved. The reason the zc passes in my car is because it is considered a "replacement" motor for my year.

B) dont even TRY to get your swap bar approved, the engine is older than your car which is completly illegal.

C) my sohc zc runs pretty damn good but is losing oil somehow after only 77k miles, hopefully you dont have this same experience.

D) the tranny is fine no matter what, you shouldnt have any problems with this at all.
