Hey guys, I was driving my car yesterday with the headlights on and they both went out all the sudden. My brights still work though, and the driving lights at that first notch on the lights switch work too. Has anyone had this problem? What should I check? I think it might be the switch, because the first notch of my windshield wipers dont work, but they work at the faster settings, like there is just a dead spot on the switch. Please help before I have to take it into the shop. Thanks!

I second the switch, unfortunately. You have confirmed that the ground is good because the high beams work, and that also eliminates a simple fuse. Not too knowledgeable about how the lights are wired into other relays, but it is possible that there is a bad relay for the headlights low setting? I also don't believe that the wiper issue has anything to do with the headlights, they are on different switches ;)

Agreed, also a second thought, the Hi and Low beams are on different fuses. Double check the fuses with either a test light or a multimeter. Simply looking at the fuses can be deceptive as a hair line fracture in the fuse can cause the problem also.

Yea I know they are on diff. circuits, I was just saying that since the wiper is out in basically the same way as the headlights, it is probably the switch. But thanks for the replies I will check those fuses. Would both headlights go out at the same time though..?
