I would try and talk him down a bit but if it runs and drives good then i would hop on it.

Exterior stuff is usually a pretty easy fix...

Im sure it needs some work. Most of those conversions are half assed and i can tell the hood looks funky. Also he mentioned rust. Thats never fun.

And then you have to think y did he do the conversion? Was it wrecked? Is it an actual honda front end?

Yeah, Is there anyway i could find out if it was wrecked or not? Yes i see that hood is sort of messed up.

If its legit and runs good i would give around $4500. It may be worth what hes asking though.

Rust scares me though.

But if you can get it for $4500 i think it would be good for you.

Look at the area around the core support.

No way to tell unless it was half assed and would be able to tell by stress cracks and stuff around and area that sheetmetal butts together.

Look for cracks or bondo. Just basically anything that stands out by looking in the bay and if body panels arent gapped right and stuff like that.

I know that Honda/Acura cars were always plagued with rust not exactly sure why that is. I'll have to do some more looking into the car and talk to the owner!

Ask him for the vin, then go here and punch it in. If it comes up as a salvage title or something, you know it's fishy. He did claim it's a clean title, but I would still check. Also, test drive it, and take it on an interstate to get it up to 80ish. See if it shimmies/shakes at all. If it's slight, it's not an issue. If it's bad, it could be any number of suspension components. Overall, $4500-$5000 is good for that car, and it looks pretty good. I'm still kinda weirded out by the fact it has a b16 trans and not the GSR trans.

It's not, but why was it replaced? Did he destroy the GSR trans? If that's the case, and the motor is original, that would mean he beat the s**t out of it. I would ask questions. If all checks out, pick her up!

Its fine. 5th gear rpms would be the concern for highway driving.

You sit right at vtec engagement at 65/70 mph. Its gonna kill fuel economy a bit but u could always put an LS 5th gear in it if you wanted to.
