95 dx bog

Its a stock d15b7 5spd. and i know the dx tranny has a long 3rd gear, but the bogginess has been aggrivatin me lately. I go from 2nd where the car will move to 3rd and i just feel the rpm drop and even when i smash the pedal down theres just low rpm bog, really no other way to explain it. Only mods are a aem, i guess short ram, its not down into the well hole but its not all the way up in the bay either.

From what ive heard some different intakes have given people bog so im wondering if that plays a role or if its just the dx tranny.

I noticed a slight loss of torque in the lower rpms when i installed my aem short ram intake. I'm running a d15b7 also but i have a d16z6 5 speed tranny.

i thought thats what i could be but i have nothing to compare it to since this is my first civic and it came with the AEM so im not sure if the stock intake performed the same in 3rd or what. I was planning on doing a DIY cold air through the fender or wheel well but im not sure if thatll help or hurt. Anymore loss in torque and I'll be stuck in traffic.

Before i installed the aem intake a couple weeks ago i was running the oem air intake with a drop in K&N filter and removed the resonator. Much better IMO cause it actually draws cooler air from the hole in the fender well. The only advantage that i have have found with the aem SR over the oem set up is the cool sound it makes and the bling factor lol. My other engine mods are a d16a6 cam, d16y8 cam gear, d16z6 intake manifold, 2000 spec oem d16y8 header, d16z6 tranny, yonaka cat back exhaust, magnaflow high flow cat, and the aem SR air intake. I'm actually thinking about switching back to the oem air intake due to the torque loss in the lower rpms. Or get a cold air intake. With that list of mods the car really rips now compared to a stock d15b7.

good to know, so i may just sell the AEM or modify it to a cold air. I do like the wooshing sound though, pretty fun to hear in a N/A car.
