There are a million posts all over the web about Honda speedo problems, but have not found one that puts all the possible problems in one place. I just want to be sure we are on the correct path.
The speedo is erratic, works some, doesn't some, wild some.
During all of these phases the odometer continues to work.
SInce the odometer works, we can rule out the VSS, correct?
Since the odometer works, can we rule out the IC solder joints?
I have not read anywhere where it explains the connection between the speedo and odo, but I assume they are run thru the same connection thru the VSS. Basically there is one connection between the VSS and the Speedo/Odo?
Therefore if the ODO works and Speedo works at least part of the time, we are looking and a speedometer only failure? Or could there be part of the solder joints needing repaired?
Thanks for your help and sorry to introduce another speedo question.
