Ok so I have a 1997 Civic Ex and im wondering if nothing but the 99-00 climate contol bezel with fit in the place of the stock one?? My idea is to relocate my stock a/c controls to above the cup holder and use the 99 climate bezel for a double din and i could fiberglass out the climate knobs and buttons.... so the question is will just the 99-00 climate bezel fit in the place of the 96-98 one with little to no modification??

I have a 98 EX and I did the conversion as I wanted a double DIN unit in the dash for navigation purposes. The 99-00 bezel will fit into the hole in the dash but the mounting to the dash structure is different and therefore its not a nice fit without further work. I used a 98 dash with the 99-00 bezel. I made a bracket to support the rear of the radio which takes the weight of the head unit off the bezel.
Where did mount the support for the double din, whet did you use for the support? I noticed the vents are more on the right than the 96's will there need any modification for the vents to work?

You will need to change the center section of the vent thats bolted to the bottom of the dash. I got everything from a pick and pull. The radio support for the 99-00 is part of the bezel. Thats why I supported the back of the radio, it takes the stress of the weight off the bezel. It also makes it impossible to steal the radio without taking the dash apart. The support bolts to the radio unit I use and also bolts to the dash support structure. I made it with angle from Lowes.
