hope this is the right section, anyways i have a 96 civic hx and i need to replace my driver side power window regulator. Has anyone done this before and if so how hard is it. I've looked at it and the actual door panel looks pretty damn hard to remove. should i just take it to a shop? any help would be appreciated, I'm tired of rolling the window up with my hand and having that shiet drop every time i hit a bump.

Shouldn't be too difficult. I mean, I didn't know s**t, but I've replaced one of my front windows before...it's a hassle, but in the end, you'll be happy you tried to do it on your own.

So, i say, try to fix it yourself...and if you can't do it, then hand it to a shop. Never hurts to try, right?

when you replaced your window did you have to take off the metal panel behind the door panel. I'm looking at it and it looks like the only way i can actually replace the regulator is by taking it off and it looks like its welded on. I have no idea where to start.

I basically took off the door panel, un-hooked all the connectors (wiring, etc) then you have to actually work in those tight spaces around the metal that's welded to the door. Scrape up your arms a lil, it feels good 8)

haha good luck
