The best way to know if your rings have gone bad is to do a simple compression test, write down the number, pour a teaspoon of oil into the cylinder and do another compression test. If the number goes up a decent amount after the oil is added, your rings aren't sealing. Repeat for all cylinders.

If your piston rings aren't sealing You will have a low compression number. The oil will cause the rings to seal correctly and then see if your rings are the problem. If you find they are bad, Id do a complete rebuild along with rod bearings, and valve seals.

96 civc help!!!

ok well i just learned something new lol i guess its got a d15b bottom end and a vtec head with a vtec controler it also has the right ecu i guess cause the ecu reads 37820-p28-L01-762-602834 with a wire harnest converter, i noticed the blueish smoke bad when the vtec kicks in what would cause this ?
