96 DX cluster

can i put a 2000 si cluster in my 96 dx? if not does anyone know what type of cluster can i install with a rpm gauge?

all the 6th gen civic clusters are interchangeable (as well as some others, like acura EL and 97-01 CRV). so yes, you can put an Si cluster in your DX

I have the same problem. New to the site, just picked up a 98 dx, and hating having no tach. just double checking with what 2nd hand said, if i get a new cluster, i dont need any new wiring or anything mechanical to hook up a tach even though the car didnt come with one?

no modifications are needed to swap clusters. just plug n play

i just swapped my cluster and an automatic cluster will work in a 5speed imj not sure bout vice versa but you must also swap your speed to keep the same miles when u do this make sure you tigthen down the four screws on the back enough to where theyh are held in but dont torque to tightly. if your speedo isnt working its probably too loose screws. just make sure if you swap your cluster your miles must go up or stay the same as its illegal to drop the miles down. and i own a 96 dx 5speed

It's only illegal if you fail to document the actual mileage on the vehicle and later try to sell it without a buyer-beware or the corrected mileage. I've already done my homework on this issue as I rolled back my odometer to reflect the mileage on a rebuilt motor.

okay good to know that i was actually wrong. because swapping out the speedo was a lil sketchy since i was new. seems like rolling odometer back is easiest. what all has to be dont for it to be legit
