96' EX Oil Leak

I have a 96 honda civic ex that i purchased about a month ago has a slight oil leak, that I've been trying to find and fix.

Its a D16Y8, automatic transmission. Ive changed the distributor O-ring, and I just changed the VTEC solenoid yesterday. The valve cover gasket seems to be okay and does not show any signs of leakage.

I have posted a link below of some pictures. The first plc shows where the typical run of the oil is at. Pic 2 shows the same spot but at an able.

And pic 3 shows the entire engine itself

Any extra help or insight is much appreciated.

That type of oil leak generally comes from the distributor or VTEC solenoid.

Sweep your fingers below the VTEC solenoid and the distributor to look for fresh oil.

The distributor can leak from 2 places - the O-ring or the internal oil seal - so also check for oil inside the distributor.

yea i was thinking about taking the distributor off and checking that O-ring, ill have to check that internal seal. Last time when i checked under the distributor there wasn't any oil...ill have to check it again after a de drive.Ill post pics later.

Did you use a Honda O-ring?

Did you replace both VTEC gaskets?

No the O-ring as not Honda's OEM

And i only replaced the main VTEC gasket. The upper part of the solenoid does not show any signs of leaking and looks like somebody before me has replaced it already.
