96 stock radio volume control all screwy

The volume control on my 96 EX sedan (Alpine-made, I think) has been slowly getting worse and worse. If I turn it "up", the volume often goes down, and vice versa. Anyone know of a fix?

Buy a new one or send it back to company for repair.

If you squeeze the knob or put pressure on it, you can turn it up or down. Would love to see a better fix if anyone has one.

This is a common problem of the stock radio. I am unaware of a fix, short of replacing the radio.
