97 Civic Coupe 1.6i ls problems!!!

I'm just new to this site and the other day i proudly bought my first civic!!

im based in ireland in dublin and got it at a nice price knowing it needed a small amount of work, little did i know what would be happening next lol!

I bought the car last friday and the guy i bought it off made it clear about a hole in the front pipe on the exhaust, (the curved one that comes down from the manifold), i didnt mind too much as stuff like that is normally a quick fix. The car will lack power nd not accelerate unless i have my foot flat on the floor, and when i do that it shifts beautifully. But i cant drive in it normally, the hole in the exhaust was patched by FirstFit (tyre and exhaust shop) and the noise is gone but the shuddering and loosing power at low revs isnt!

I changed the spark plugs but the ones in the car were not too bad anyways, its starting to really get to me as i cannot enjoy the car properly untill this is sorted.

Ive been browsing through forums and finding other people with similar problems but the thread just seems to run out.

Any help would be appreciated and if i will describe and give as much info as i possibly can,

Also just to note that there are no warning lights or anything like it flashing at all on the dash so hoping it can be a simple fix.

There is a 106000 miles on the car.
