97 Civic dome light issues

Hey all I have a 1997 civic hx with an aftermarket sony stereo. I've noticed that the dome-light doesn't turn on when I open the door, or turn the light itself on. I know that this is a common problem with civics. Just wondering if there is ANY way to bypass this annoying problem.

Not a fun fix but yeah there's a way.

You have to have your stock radio tucked behind the dash and splice it into your aftermarket radio with this harness:

You just need a jumper wire from one wire to ground but i dont remember which wire it is. Look up 96-98 civic dome light fix

Oh yeah I forgot it's easier if you only need the domelight. It's more complicated if you need the keyless entry

You dont need it unless you want to stock keyless entry

Actually you short two pins in the connector B.

OP, do Google search. I and others have posted the fix many times.
