Has anyone tried to install a double din in a 97ish Civic? If so what all needs to be swapped out and from what year? I have a Alpine double din nav/dvd unit i miss very much and want to install in my 97 coupe. I just need to be pointed in the right direction so when i get to a junk yard or searching i know what i need to get together for a good install. Thanks ahead of time.

doesn't seem like it would be worth it to me
All depends on how much you enjoy you audio equipment. I spend alot of time driving back and fourth to work. Heck i can watch a whole movie on my way to work and then back home so everyday i go through a movie so to me it is worth it. Its just love and labor really. Think of it like this, engine swap.... is that worth it? For me and long drives maybe not, i could use better MPG than speed (not that i would not mind that at all) but my point is a more dependable vehicle is better in the long run for my use. Trust me i would love to be installing a turbo or something instead but that dont go too well with a three year old in the back seat who already has road rage.... hummm i wonder who taught her that

what double din are you putting in there?
The Iva-W203 with Blackbird and bluetooth and two headrest monitors (still thinking wether or not to install those). I know its alittle older now but i already have it from my prior vehicle and i love it alot better than the Kenwood double din nav in my wifes 04 Civic.

1996 double din

its my work car so i cut the dash and there it is. no massive havc replacment. time is all it needs. i cant seem to post the picture. ok i used image shack to get some pictures up. it works. there you go. i did this my self with a junk yard, lkq bezel to try before i wrecked mine. it worked out. any questions. if this is over your skill level give it to a pro. i will answer some questions wizee24@yahoo.com thanks. i got tired of searching for a year for any one who has done it so i did it the easiest way with out spending big bucks reworking the dash. it works.

i'm considering doing this, but using small ducting to relocate the vents to small port holes on the side of the radio
like this
