Hi all, I have a 97 honda Civic (190,000 miles) with a issue thats been happening for awhile now. When I start her cold in the morning the RPM goes up to about 1500 and I get a noise that sounds like a low knock but when the car warms up the noise goes away when warmed up and the car idles around 500. Also she has blue smoke come out some mornings but others there wont be any visible exhaust at all (except for normal condensation). It used to be much worst before I changed out the PCV valve, it would smoke out my neighbors house with gray smoke. Also I have not been running through any oil or coolant, so I'm wondering if some sort of tune up is in order. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I would suggest taking out your spark plugs and seeing if you can see any wetness from coolant or oil in the cylinders, you said you are not running thru coolant or oil but it doesn’t hurt to check! Don’t mix them up when you take them out, and compare how they look also to see if there are any color differences, this could give you a hint of what cylinder is smoking out and maybe narrow down where the issue is coming from.

I am unsure of what would cause blue smoke, I would like to see / learn about what would cause that....
