'97 Keyless Lock/Alarm Issues

Hey guys, I have an interesting keyless remote problem.

Basically, the remote works when it wants to. If my doors are locked, it will not unlock the doors, but it will disengage the alarm. So I have to hit unlock on the remote for the alarm, and then unlock the door with the key. With that said, it will lock the doors and engage the alarm just fine. I don't know if any of you have ever seen such an issue. Maybe an actuator problem? I have no idea...

Also, occasionally, when the remote engages and disengages the alarm, it only makes the audible sound occasionally. So if I forget to disengage the alarm with the remote and I open the door, the alarm will go off, but it doesn't make any sound (MOST OF THE TIME). So it won't start until I disengage the silent alarm. It's really weird. So, does anyone have any insight on this?

Coupe or sedan? Same problem for all door locks?

Coupe, and yes it is the same problem on both doors.

Stock radio still installed?

No, there was an Alpine in it when I bought it.

So it's an aftermarket keyless system, or is the stock radio tucked behind the Alpine?

Aftermarket. The remote appears to be an Audiovox: Prestige 07S3BP from the best I can tell...
