Hi I'm new here! I just bought a 2000 Honda Civic LX sedan. I took apart the door to investigate the cause of my power door locks blowing the fuse every time and after a lot of head scratching and wanting to rip my hair out, discovered that the driver's door had actually been replaced at some point by a door from a 1998 civic (Checked the VIN). The door has the power door lock circuitry running through a power door lock control unit in the door. According to the repair manual, the 99-00 civics don't even have a power door lock control unit and everything runs through the keyless door lock module. So what is the best way to get my door locks working again? I'm thinking I need to get a door wiring harness out of a 99-00 civic and swap it for mine and just take out the door lock control unit? Anyone ever heard of this happening before? Thanks!
