im new to this forum and the car scene, i have a 98 coupe which me and my friends swapped the motor to a d16y8,problem now is when i start it it takes a good 5 to about 10 seconds to start. i bought an ecu for the y8 but when i plugged it in and started my car the idle seems to drop near to 0 and it wont rev past 1.5 but with the old ecu (y7) it seems fine.

any suffestions? if anything i plan on taking it to the shop to have it fixed but i would like to see if theres any way i can fix this myself(wth some help of my friends of course).
hellllllllp:???:

You gotta do ALL the proper steps when doing a swap. Not just slam dunking an engine into your car expect it to work correctly.

This should be quoted and placed on every swap section of every forum. It seems that most newbs think they are or should be plug and play. Sad thing is, there is swap guides all over the net that walk you through step by step and most don't bother looking for them.
