98 ek enigine wine?

this is my first post. My names laura i drive a green ek. i bought a 1998 civic coupe 5spd about 3 months ago. im not sure if the timing belts been changed it has about 109k on it. recently the engines been wining and im not sure if its the timing belt or maybe something else. transmission seems to shift find. as of now its all stock except for an intake. just not trying to spend money i dont have to.. any suggestions???

It might be a belt that needs to tighten if it does it when idling. Check your belt for wear and cracks they might need to get replaced.

yeah it does it when idling but in 4th and 5th seems to not be as bad or as the car warms up seems to get better.

also check your power steering pump. it might be low on fluid. i would go ahead and change the timing belt and water pump if you dont know for sure if it was changed, they should both be changed every 100,000 miles. it is pretty inexpensive
