98 ex cel

Alright. So this is an issue I've been having since I installed my short ram intake from spectre. It runs great, except I'm throwing a cel since I had to pull out the intake sensor. Any way to permanently disable that from coming on, so when something else trips it I'll at least know about it? Also, I'm only getting 260-270 miles a tank. That's highway miles w cruise on. City I only get about 220 miles. Any way to fix? Thanx

Is the IAT sensor unplugged? If so, why?

And why would you want to disable the ECU? You want it to alert you to any sensor problems.

Pull the CEL codes and post them. Then reset the ECU to see whether any codes return. If so, also post the codes that return.

Iat is unplugged because the new intake didn't have a place for it. I also guess I misdirected you. I want to clear this code for good so if anything else breaks I know about it

Spectre has a kit that comes with the proper size hole saw and a assortment or rubber grommets So you can install you IAT sensor in the intake tubing. I think its is a special order at orileys and autozone though. Spectre part # 8711

Just drill a hole in the intake, install a rubber grommet, plug in the IAT and be done with it.

Like Ron said, reset the ECU (once the IAT is plugged in).

The ECU requires signals from the IAT sensor to maximize gas mileage and engine performance. Properly install the IAT sensor and go from there.

Why did you throw away the original IAT sensor?

Yes that is your problem if you dont want to buy a new intake drill a hole in the current one and use a groment and put the sensor back in there.
Or you can order the intake that already has the spot for it.
