99 civic hatchback

hey im 17 and purchased a nice clean 1999 honda civic hatchback, its manual
i recently blew the motor in it and looking for a new or used one for under 500
any ideas? i am new to civics

How did you blow the engine so quick?

low on motor oil, and i was taking it down to niagara falls from ottawa, and i have a friend with a mechanic shop down there, so i was just going to get him to top everything up after i got down
probs didnt help i was pushin 180 the whole way

Wow guy really? not to bash you or anything but instead of a new motor i think you need to use the money to take a automotive class, save up some money and buy you a good motor like a b18c, not gonna find much for less than $500 anyways not being a d**k just saying, Welcome to the fourms

i get scared of drivers like you on the highway. lol

but for 500 i doubt youd get anything more than an old sohc. and it might not be bad for you

cheers guys, yeah i would take an automotive class if i had the money
i got fortunate on a car with a very nice body, with a bunch of aftermarket interior and exterior parts, it got me from point a to b until i blew the motor
i was looking at a few d16z6, i heard there decent little motors
and i actualy found 2 of them ,one for 200 and one for 250, i even got my mechanics to check them out
any advice you guys got id be gladly to take, im just looking to get it running right now so i can get my ass to work, but when the time comes and moneys right i will definately be investing money into it, as i slowly learn about the car

z6 is a good motor, i have one in my car, but it was factory runs like a champ tho and has a lil pep

pay the extra 500 and put a b16 in it, you can get one with the tranny for that around here (people steal s**t from cleveland and bring them down here) youll be happy you did.
