Hey all just looking for some info I have a 99 civic ex with vtec I didn't know at the time I got a new motor because mine had blown up so I dropped a 95 motor in it. Then I used my original harness with the original computer and it fired up but wanted to rev out because what I think it didn't have a vtec motor so I put the original harness to the motor and computer and it won't fire and I have an adishinoal plug that I can put in the computer just looking to ideas if I had the money I would have All ready got a vtec motor but I don't is there any way I can get this motor to work in my car do I need a jumper or a splice so I can plug 2 plugs into the same spot?
Thanks any info would be grate

Although you havent provided exactly which motor you used, which is important, undestand that a motor from 1995 will run using an OBD1 computer and anything after 1996 uses OBD2. Therefore, your problem is that your using the wrong computer. You need the OBD1 computer that goes with the engine along with the wiring harness which will be easier than splicing up and using the 99 harness.

I don't know the exact motors and I have All ready tryed that and didn't work
You need to backtrack and figure all that out because you shouldve known all of this before the swap. A car is not playing with Legos. That lack of respect for mechanics and lack of attention to detail will only lead to more issues such as this.

You already tried what? Respond with clear details.

HeX you are clearly correct. The original poster is not as educated on this topic as you are. You are very nice for providing him with that comment. I hope it helps him because I agree 100 percent with you.
