99 EX coupe windows regurator question

My windows regulator broke @ 80k miles. I went to a dealer shop to get it fixed. I know that I got ripped because I paid $350 for all the labor & parts. Now I have a hissing nose every time I drive above 40 mph, plus there is a metallic clicking noise from time to time (especially when it is cold). I have already spoken with the dealer and they told me to bring my car back, but I just do not have time during the week time and was looking to do it myself. Can someone tell me how to take off driver's side door panel? What tools are required? Also my passenger side window rolls down and up twice slower that my driver's side. Any idea why? Should I lubricate something? Does any one have any documentation (preferably with pictures) on how to disassemble a door panel in 99' EX coupe civic?

Thank you a lot

Has anyone had a problem with the motor for the window going out? I have a 99 and seems either if both my window motors are going to burn out. Or they just roll up and down really slow. I read once that hondas had problems with the windows jumping off track. Is it possible thats the problem?

If you still want to take the door panel out, the panel is held by snap on fasteners. Just take a blunt prying tool to pry off the bottom part of the panel. The top part, where it meets the window opening, is hanging, so you will have to unhook it from the top. The front triangle might also be a problem, so you will just have to work it out slowly.

my passenger side window doesn't roll down. i don't know what happened to it, it just decided to not go up one day. since then, they've told me the problem was in my power window switch, and not the motor itself. i'm not sure if thats right, but they told me it'd be about $75 to fix it. i'm probably going to have the work done sometime in the near future.

Oh s**t, I know this one. I take off my cousins side panel every f**king week because his window jumps off the tracks.

There's a couple screws that you need to take off. There's one on the door handle, one in the little tray thing, you'll need to take off the speaker, three more additional screws around where the speaker is, and then like O.Z Chi said, just pull from the bottom and work your way up and it should come off. Err, the only tool you'll need is a #2 phillips screwdriver (don't worry about the #2, most are).

Putting the damn thing back on is a little tougher and will take a little patience the first time you do it. Start by sliding the top onto where your side mirror is and then slip the rest of the door panel over onto the metal, making sure everything is flush. Gawd, I wish I had pictures to go along with it... and I no longer can, because I have refused to help out my cousin after 2 months of taking his door panel on and off. He just decided to leave it off for good.

Thanks a lot for all the info
I decided to go back to the dealership and complained. They did something, so now the windows sits tight, but I still hear freaking noise all the time I drive over 30-40 (depending on the wind). I am sick of talking to them again, and since my car is out of warranty and they are the only dealer I can go and complain, I think I will have to fix the issue myself. If there anything that can cause that noise to make around the window? Is there anything particular I should be looking for to fix the issue
