hey everyone my name is Brandon, or b. I have a 1999 honda civic lx named mary jane. I've been doing little things here and there. Changed out the stereo, put a sub in the trunk, and just recently put driving lights in the lower grill of the bumper. Next me and my mechanic are taking apart the dashboard and door panels and painting small parts of them the same color of the exterior to accent them then possibly paint the vc. But me and him have come to a standstill, i want to change out the struts and shocks because their making a creaking noise and don't absorb bumps well. He said he'd help me swap em out but he works in an offroad shop so his knowledge of struts is kind of limited for street cars. He told me just to buy the ones I want and he'll help me install them... This is my first civic and I don't know what good struts and shocks are for these. I really don't care what everyone else is putting on theirs but i'd like to know what some good ones are to get a smoother ride.

Welcome to Clubcivic.com, now get ready to hear something you will hear with this type of question. "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON"....especially when it comes to a motor and suspension. Two highly opinionated debates. Function and form, tokico blues, illumana are all great struts- do you want adjustability of dampers or just a smoother ride then blown OEM. and shocks are the same way, im riding illuminas with ground controls. pretty smooth. it absorbs alot but also transfers alot of ride to me. be looking to replac any ball joints or tie rods while your in their, mainly because all suspension parts influence the overall handling. search away my friend.

Been rocking tokico blues with skunk2 coilover slips for along time and they ride really well and last at that (as long as you dont slam the car).
