99d16y8 swap into 97 hatch

Hey all I just had a quick question about my swap I'm in the middle of doing I have a97 Dx hatch and I bought a full d16y8 swap from a 99 ex coupe now I'm an eg guy so this obd2a and b stuff if different for me

My question is is if I use the obd2b engine wiring harness and the obd2b ecu would it work in my obd2a 97 hatch? I just want to know because I would rather keep it looking oem under the hood and don't have the money to go buy a obd2a harness if I don't need to

you can also just use a conversion harness and wire your vtec in
