OK I have a couple of turbo questions but Ill just put in one post instead of 5490753095.
-first quesion I have a Ct26 turbo from a 1980something celica all trac I was wondering what size flange would be needed on a exhaust manifold so that it would bolt right up.
- second question Is it better to have the intercooler piping match the size of your TB or does it really matter for performance or anything like that.
-When rebuilding a turbo do you have to have it rebalanced. And if so is there anywhere I can send it for cheap that will do a good job rebalancing it.
Any feedback would be great. Thanx:D

the CT26 is toyota's own little insanity. it doesn't share flanging with any other turbo. best option is to call up one of the fab companies and have them use a CT26 flange on one of their existing manifolds. cheaper would be to get a T3 / T25 / MHI manifold and have an adapter plate made up. In fact, speed source (speed-source.net) sells a T25 turbo kit for the 3s-gte, meaning you could reverse the flange and use a CT26 on a T25 manifold. they are VERY picky about parting out their kits, but if you called and talked to them, the worst they can say is no.

there are a number of shops that rebuild CT26s, and rebuilds are cheap. toyota still provides all the parts for them, so it's not like you got yourself a lemon. in fact, any shop that can rebuild a turbo can rebuild a ct26, so call up your local diesel shop or dealership and ask them where they get their rebuilds done.

a company called KOracing also does ct26 rebuilds, porting, compressor voodoo, etc.

as long as you aren't running crazy fat or skinny piping you should be okay with whatever charge piping you choose. as close as you can get to your TB size and compressor outlet size is a good idea. most turbos come in a select few compressor outlet sizes ANYWAY.

Ok so would it be safe to cut the ct26 exhaust manifolds adapter plate and put it on a different manifold that would work on a b series motor. Would it be able to handle much boost on the welds. Thanx.

the only thing i would be weary about would be welding with a cast flange (if that's what you have). flanging is CHEAP. ebay search for a ct26 flange. be sure that if you have a single entry you get a single entry flange or twin entry to twin flange.

otherwise, hell ya you can boost on it!
