I am getting my turbo kit, intercooler and all my gauges installed sat. I have a couple of questions should i put in premeium gas 93 octane before i get my turbo installed so it will run on that??? Also the shop said it would be stupid for them to tune it if i am not going to run more then stock psi until i get a boost controller is this true?

93 octane is good for turbos less chance of detonation it depends on how much boost your going to be pushing.

when you have a turbo, you ALWAYS have to run premium. i suggest that at least 2 tankfuls before you get it installed you put 93 in there to ensure that you have no detonation issues from th e left over 87 in your tank.

so I should put premium gas in there now? isn't that bad for the engine b4 it is a turbo... i heard that the higher octane gas makes the d16y8 engine harder to combust the fuel and you lose horse power but is it ok if i can use premium w/o a turbo i just don't want to harm anything in my engine

if your car doesnt call for higher octane gas you shouldnt run it, your wasting your cash and its un needed
cleaner blah

its just helps to avoid detonation

your going to clog your car if your car doesnt call for it

when boosted run 93.......

you need to always run premium when boosting, I dont know what all this bs about wasting money and hurting an engine from running a higher octane...you lucky bastards that get 93 octane shouldnt complain, Cali is stuck with 91...BAH

there is no need to run high octane fuel in your car, unless you are turbo'd. so dont waste the money. youll be fine on a tank of lower octane gas. its not like if you use anything less than 93 youre gonna blow up.

hes getting his turbo on saturday, i was just saying to fill up a tank or 2 before getting it with premium to ensure hes got 93 octane in the whole tank, instead of installing the turbo and then switching- because you know that as soon as he gets it, hes gonna go driving around using every bit of boost he has. on a tank of even partial 87, with no tuning and just the greddy stock fmu, thats a recipe to rape his motor.
