A Different Kind of Swap?

Ok, I'm browsing the local craiglist (ksl is really the name) and I find this motor; F23a1. I think to myself, I've dealt with it before in my friends accord. I remembered how much it was like the h22. Did a quick google search for putting it into an EG. There's not a lot of information, but the engine is common in junkyards around here. Now I'm interested, I want it in my hatch. I know I can use h22 mounts and maybe if I want h2b tranny setup. What other parts do I need?

Shift linkage?
Tranny?
Head swap to H22?
Axles?
Ecu? and OBD?
Misc?

Should be a fun summer =)

Sounds like a killer build, definitely more torquey than the usual B swaps. You'll definitely have to be on google half the summer cuz not a lot of people on the site right now have done anything like that.

Seems like there is little to no info on these swaps. The bits and pieces I find and read I get the impression it's just like a h22 swap but I am not so sure. I found this while searching don't know if you had already seen it. If you go ahead and do swap it over start a build thread should be a fun summer.

Shift linkage - you would need cables and shift block from a h22
Tranny- h22 or h-b would work
Head swap to H22- only seen it once and they called it a "G" swap... weak
Axles - you would need either Integra (h2b) or you would have to get H swap axels
Ecu? and OBD - stay obd 1 and chip an ecu
Misc - you will have to extend fuel lines, bigger filter and bigger pump ( I think the pump from a prelude will work but a walboro 255 would work great)

I would stay away from an F build but have seen them done.

f22a7 has more hp torque and its obd1 If you can find one 0o I always wanted to put my f22p2 in my EG Hatch but ended up with the b18 on my 1st swap. I dented the frame and gave up on that car but i still have the motor on a skid lol

Alright everyone, going to pick up the engine today after work. Got an awesome deal, 115 for block, head, vc, and fuel injectors. Graduation is in a week so the funds for build are coming! :D Getting pretty excited!

I read up on the g22/g23 thing. DOHC is the way to go, but there isn't much info on the builds. The last one I looked at scared me a bit talking about welding off oil ports and shiz.

i always wanted to do an F series SOHC build in my EG.

they are pretty much the same as an H. so, H tranny, and mounts will work.

i honestly think the "G series" builds arent really all that worth it. you can go boost on a stock F and make mre power for close to the same money as a G swap.

But think! DOHC vtec 2.3L on boost in an EG. Whoa.. and not to mention you get to put a cool DOHC VTEC sticker on the side without shame.
