A few questions about my new (to me) civic VX

Hi everyone!

First post here. I just bought a 1992 Civic VX. I commute 1.5 hours to work so the gas mileage was a big draw. Anyway, I hear a whirring sound every time I start it up. It doesn't have a problem starting, but I wonder if it could be the beginning signs of a dying starter?

Also, it's a 5-speed, and it doesn't like to let go of reverse gear. Any ideas on that one? After it's been driving a while it's fine but when it's cold it can be stubborn.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Clutch fluid, clutch, or trans. That's all I got based on your "whirring" sound and reverse issue.

Congrats on the smart purchase.

Starter noise - post a video with sound.

Reverse - start here ---> drain the MTF from the transmission and refill with Honda MTF.

Well I just replaced the clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder. So the clutch fluid is brand new.

Thanks! I will do my best to post a video. I'm not particularly technologically astute. Can Honda MTF be found at any parts store or will I have to go to a dealer?

Easiest to get from Honda dealer, either locally or online. However, I've heard some people mention seeing it available at some auto parts stores, though I haven't seen it myself.
