A few stupid Q's

New to Civics... Be nice!
OK, so here is my list of stupid questions from a newb to all you Civic Veterans...

First off - What is the big deal about NGK plugs? I know that's what comes in them factory, but are they really all the hype? Has anyone noticed a difference between those and another platinum brand?

Since I'm mostly wanting a decent looking car and a bit more HP/Tq, what are some minor add ons besides the CAI, Exhaust, and such like that for a D15B7? I know that an engine swap is the way to go for real power, but this is my wifes car, and I don't want it to have too much.

Are the Ebay HID light setups worth the money? Some look awesome and quite stock, but I don't want to have something that shits on us in 1000 miles or less.

What is the best manual trans to get for said engine, and what kind of head swap would be beneficial?

Sorry for the stupid questions, I'm sure I'll have more...

im about to order some of those pulstar iridium plugs and see how they work out.
i had some hids in the del sol, they were rly bright, bright enuff for police to give tickets for. i think they still might b?

Wow, the Cops around here aren't that bad. I have straight pipe exhaust, no muffler on my Escort LX and it's LOUD and they never even look my direction.

yep, ive noticed that on alot of them. and y would u run a str8 loud exhaust?

No there is no bolt on to add any decent power to your civic, which is WHY people do say swap/boost are the only way.

As for HID's, we have plenty of site sponsors and some have lifetime Warranty's. Do NOT buy a kit without a warranty as they are all well known to be hit or miss. They will be blinding bright to oncoming traffic.


Z6 Head swap is what you will want if you are going to swap heads. As for tranny, are you looking for gas mileage or shorter gears?

Shorter gears and just a manual trans =) So a Z6 head is my only option huh? Well that should be fine.
