i have an rsx that has a bose system in it and i think the speakers are blown or somthing because they dont sound like they should sound... i mean like bose systems should sound nice right??? but mines sounds dull... so if i get new aftermarket speakers, will it sound nice? or would it sound the same unless i change the head unit???

even though its got a bose system, its still a stock system. I think you're expecting more then you should be out of it. I'm sure they are still paper speakers.

you can't just throw agtermarket speakers into a bose system. It's an amplified system, and the impedance of the speakers are about 1-2 ohms. You only choice is to rip the entire bose system out, amps and all and start again. That does include the bose deck. It all has to go

We did this to a 300ZX that my cousin had. You can put aftermarket speakers in the bose "boxes" but you will neet to bypass the mini amps at each inclosure. Does this make sense? You could possibly dump aftermarket speakers right into the bose "boxes" as long as the specs are similar. It would probably be better to dump the head unit and bypass the amps though.

bypassing the amps is like turning your cutting your rcas off and making them speaker lines. Bose decks were designed on the same level of passive decks. Its a low voltage signal for the amps. This being aa newer bose system means it has one centralized amp. The boxes wont be there anymore. Just speakers in the locations and possibly a sub in the rear deck. again gut the entire system and start from scratch
