That's a lot of bang for only $500. I am curious as to what's wrong with it. What's the catch?

I also want to add that someone doesn't usually build a motor like that and not push it. I could put a bet on the fact that it probably was ridden very hard.

Compression test is definitely a start. There would be no way of telling if there is something deep going on without pulling it apart and inspecting the internals.

It really doesn't matter how low the miles/kms are if it wasn't broken in correctly, taken care of, and ridden hard. Hell if it overheated within those kms there could be underlying damage that won't reveal it's self until you fire it up.

Why is the seller dumping the motor? What kind of car was it in (not brand, but a modified car)? Race or street? I would do some more digging before pulling the trigger myself.

Like I said, someone usually doesn't go into the money and time to build a motor like that to just put around town.

Good luck!
