I drive a 1996 civic ex coupe

my AC during the day is blowing cool air not cold and i live in south florida that just isnt good enough..... however at night it will freeze my ass off....

here what I have done so far:
refilled the AC coolant... to 35 PSI
changed my oil
changed my cabin filter
refilled my radiator coolant
check the AC relay
compressor works.

what do you guys think it is?
maybe the sytem is clogged?

I need some AC is hot as hell!

thanks
Carlos

I assume that 35 PSI is on the low side. You need a manifold gauge set to also measure the high side pressure. Refrigerant pressures are affected by the outside temperature and engine rpms. What conditions did you measure the refrigerant pressure?

Does the condenser fan run when the A/C is on? Is the condenser clogged with bugs and road debris?

im in florida too and my ac lacks cooling power. i guess its just the way it is.

not to thread jack but is there any swap like a bigger condenser, compressor or something bigger to make the air colder? its very important. OP i know how you feel.

The condenser fan works...

Adding a note... it get worst when the car is stop on a light or traffic, as soon as I get on the high going say 65-70... it gets better but still not cold.

now I know that the cooling power on the civic isnt very good... but it should at least come out cold... but mine is only cold at night... during the day is like if then fan was working not the AC... unless I get on the highway then if you put your hand infront of the vent you can feel it a little cold....

Try cleaning bugs and debris out of the condenser.

all in all we learned that the civic ac system sucks. i bet there is nothing wrong with your ac system or mine. since we both have the same problem. lol.

but maybe if you put a bigger fan on the condenser it will help take the heat out of the condenser more efficiently.

or find a way to find fresh air to the condenser because it is kinda blocked by the bumper a little bit.

its sad that i work at a AC plant and i have sucky ac in my car.

ps. i asked one of my co workers and he said that i cant start swapping bigger parts on the ac system, he said that its sized that way and if i started messing around ie putting a bigger condenser on it, it could freeze up or fail.
