access trunk from inside

I have a 2009 Civic EX. My trunk won't open and I'm guessing I'll need to go through the back seats to the the trunk and manually release it. The release cable for the folding seats is accessible through the trunk, so that doesn't help. Any suggestions on how to release the fold-down seats from inside the car? Is there a cable that I can access between the seat cushions?

the cable is probably like the hood cable where the its surrounded by the black case and the actual cable is inside so you probably wont be able to pull it..why dont you want to unlock it from the trunk?

From what I understood his trunk won't open. He was asking if he can fold down the rear seats somehow to access the trunk and manually open it.

Correct....the trunk won't open, so I was trying to avoid taking the seat out by attempting to access the release cable (if possible).
