Hello all, Im new to the forum and have yet to find a thread to help with what i want so here goes. I am about to purchase a stock 95 civic DX 5-speed for $2000. I plan on using this as a daily driver with some increased power. My goal is to get over 200+ hp with out spending more than $2500. i will consider engine swaps only if all the required parts (engine, ecu, axles, trans, etc.) are less than @2500 and i get over 200 hp. i only have the $2000 for the car right now but the 2500 is coming out of a bonus im getting at the end of the month so i have plenty of time to plan. I am considering an ebay turbo kit with a full exhaust but i am here for suggestions. thanks for the input everybody.

For that price you sent getting that much powers reliably. And there are plenty of threads to find stating all of this. This question is asked at least once a week. You will need turbo or an engine swap.

Not trying to be mean but I'm just stating it now so you don't get flamed later.

EBay turbo kits are not reliable. Don't expect anyone to vouge for them. You might need to be able to piece together a turbo kit for that much, and make it there, but since I hit the 200hp mark on that stock engine block I wouldn't dare go higher personally. That's just me though. Others will tell you differently.

My advice is take your time. Do your research. And do it right.

Do you even know what you're doing? I'm not trying to sound like a d**k, but do you know exactly what's going on when you turbocharge or try to increase power in a Civic. Is it even running right? Do you even enjoy driving it?

For that budget, you're not going to come anywhere close to those power goals.
