well i just got my AEM intake used for 60 bucks it was originally red but changed it to silver which came out to be a lil more like tin color.

Over all i like the sound it makes specially the sound of vtec kicking it at 5700rpms sounds sw33t!
I will try to get pictures up so i can show you when i paint it grey!

i am happy with it makes my car performe a lil better makes the exhaust a lil louder..... all i need is hearder which i found a good deal $150 for DC 4-2-1. Sorry if its in the wrong thread!

congrats...I would never buy a used intake because what I hear if there is a 1'4" dent in an AEM intake anywhere then it deams them useless....glad you like it..post pics

Who would buy an intake with a 1 foot 4 inch dent in it?

Yeah... that would mean one side is dented THROUGH the other side.......

Seriously though, I'm sure that a 1/4" dent harms its performance. I doubt it renders it useless. The dent becomes a point of turbulence (resistance also will be bad) which changes the velocity of the air which changes tuning (ie the frequency that the pressure wave is "helping") of the CAI.

Besides this effect, it's STILL getting cold air from the outside.

No doubt new is best. Used in good condition is usually still good. All else you gotta judge for yourself.

i had a sri for my civic that i lent to a friend, now i have a cone filter stuck on my stock intake tubing, i actually like the sound better with just the stock tubing and i didnt notice any performance loss when i changed it either.

if you dont know when your vtec kicks in put a vtec light in your car... some people say it's rice but... without it i wouldnt know when my vtec kics in... i bought a vtec AND I WANNA KNOW WHEN IT KICKS IN GOD DAMNIT!
my vtec kicks in at 4900 rpm and you can hear it fo sho with my "sri"
