on a d16y8, the factory water temp sensor is located right around where the radiator hose from the top of the radiator comes and attaches to the engine. look behind and under it. there is a single wire going to it with a rubber cover on the end. not sure about the oil temp. but i do know that the oil pressure sender is located above the oil filter. you will probably need to take off the filter if you are going at it from underneath the car. it too has a single wire going to it with a big rubber cover on the end. do you attach an oil temp gauge here too? i have installed a water temp and an oil press, but not an oil temp.

i looked at my car and the factory water temp sensor is actually right under the distributor. look in there and your sure to find it. if you have any questions let me know. good luck.

ok, i was looking again, and i think i gave you the wrong info :smackself
there are 2 sensors that are under the distributor and tapped into the waterline. the one to the left (right under the dis) is the one i first told you about. it is smaller, about 1/4 inch. the other one is about 2 inches to the right. that sensor has a harness that clips to it. it is also bigger- i think it is around 3/8 inch. i think this is the temp sensor you want to replace. it looks more like an aftermarket temp probe, and i don't think you can adapt aftermarket temp gauge probes down to 1/4 inch. i think the smallest you can adapt them down to is 3/8 inch, but i not positive. if you have the gauge, just see which one it will fit into. i'm betting it will fit the larger one. i don't know what the smaller sensor is...anyone else know?
